This kitchen has an amazing before and after. So many people have oak kitchens, but replacing them with lighter “painted” cabinets really opens up the space. Taking out the upper cabinets above the peninsula really helped with this as well. Here, we took out an unused closet to make a better location for the fridge and pantry. The upper cabinets have doors that lift up, rather than swing open, adding not only an awesome twist to the kitchen, but also ergonomics. Cambria counter tops and subway tile with contrasting grout really finish off the scheme.
